AFTERCARE – this is a highly important oh how your tattoo will heal and the length of time. Take your Artist’s advice on what to use.
Paper towels- Your going to need them for every time you clean your tattoo
Clothing- Dry fit is usually the go to. This will help while sleeping due to your tattoo seeping for the the first few days and it will get onto your sheets. Staining them and leaving plasma and some small blood.
Sunscreen- to keep your tattoos looking good while in the sun.
If you exercise, light workout or none until fully healed- to much movement could prolong the healing
No triple antibiotics, Aquaphor, or A&D ointments- these are petroleum based that will suffocate the tattoo causing seeping. Also these are designed to withdraw from the skin leaving your tattoo dull and blotchy needing a touch up after healed
Tanning or being in the sun- could cause the tattoo to get burnt resulting in damage to the new skin cells prolonging the heal, scaring and distorting the color.
Stay out of ALL type of water unless it is your shower or sink
Never submerge your tattoo in water
Never use warm/hot water to clean your tattoo
No hot tubs or saunas
Don’t let others touch your tattoo until it is healed
Don’t let anything rub/touch your tattoo- the slightest embrasion can prolong the tattoo and possible result in infection
Letting animal hair get to your tattoo. Animals hair collects dirt, dust, dander and more leading your tattoo to infection with an antibiotic resulting your tattoo in a destorted look after it heals.
No tight fit clothing or material that collects things. ( towels, hoodies ect.)
Don’t use a towel to dry your tattoo off after taking a shower or washing the tattoo.
